My name is Racheal Albrecht. I’m the owner/operator of Berdan Garden Flowers. I’m a wife and mother of 6 who also works with my husband, Steve, selling crop insurance from our home. 

Gardening has been a hobby of mine for many years, but in 2018 I decided to take it to the next level. My oldest daughter was getting ready to start high school and we wanted our kids to be able to participate in FFA.  FFA has something called SAE (supervised agriculture experience) projects. We felt growing mums would be a great SAE project for our kids. We were feeling bold and decided 400 mums was a good starting number. 

This project that was supposed to be about teaching our kids responsibility, soon became an extremely fulfilling hobby for myself. After that first year, I decided I wanted to expand and grow cut flowers along with the mums.  I tried to learn everything I could about growing all different varieties of flowers. Over the last 7 years I have taken numerous classes and have read every book I could get my hands on about growing, cutting, and designing flowers. And now I am diving into the greenhouse growing side of the business. I am excited to share all my knowledge I have learned over the years and I hope I can bring some beautiful flowers into your life.

Being outside in the garden is my happy place. And I am so excited to share the happiness flowers bring to my life with all of you.
